Mission 01: Game Concept

Narrative:

You will play as Clarity, a former police officer. She had quit her job after the death of her sister and believes it was her own fault she couldn’t save her in time. Her sister was brutally murdered by a serial killer that committed numerous crimes before without getting caught until Clarity arrested him and it was already too late to save her sister, suppressing the urge to kill him herself. Her sister was the only family member she had left and the thought that the murderer is still alive and her sister is not still haunts her. Some years pass and Clarity is in a bad state, she drinks constantly and barely takes care of herself. She loses parts of her memory by then but only remembers bits and pieces of people she used to know but doesn't recognize her sister anymore. By picking up lore throughout the story like family photos, newspaper articles and her sisters diary; Clarity will slowly start to remember. Shadows of the people that didn't support her and the murderer are enemies she will have to fight against before they can try to kill her and consume her consciousness into darkness and hysteria. By the end, Clarity will remember her sister and realize not to dwell on past mistakes but look towards the future of what she could be doing better for herself and her sister.

Gameplay/Mechanics/Conflict:

Clarity is a single player side-scroller game with the mix of environmental puzzles, horror and shooter. The player will play as Clarity, a former police officer going through the nightmares of past mistakes she made while on duty. As the main character, the player will have to bypass environmental puzzles like lockpicking or moving boxes to reach the next area and fight shadowy figures of monsters/enemies in horrific and terrifying settings by meleeing and shooting. 

  • Run and jump between areas 
  • Shoot/reload or melee monsters
  • Pick up and place down boxes
  • Break windows or weak walls
  • Collect items and lockpick doors.
